Your spouse has died, and whether you saw it coming or not, nothing feels normal right now. Your brain is trying to process a life-changing loss, and it can feel like the world stopped turning while everyone else just kept going. Below are some things that you, or someone supporting you, may need to think about handling in those first days.
The immediate things can feel impossible. You may look at this list and think, there is absolutely no way I can do any of this right now. Reach out for support. People really do often show up after a loss, and some may just be waiting because they're afraid of bothering you. You do not have to have it together, how could you? Just try to handle what you can and ask for help with the rest.
