Not all songs mean the same thing to every person.
When we are walking through grief , or walking alongside someone who is grieving, certain songs can hit us in unexpected ways.
These are simply songs that have meant something to me. If they are not for you, that is absolutely okay.
I remember completely breaking down in my car over a Bryan Adams song… and it wasn’t even a song my husband and I listened to together. Grief is strange like that.
Sometimes music outside of your usual genre can still reach straight into your heart.
I hope you find something here that helps you feel a little less alone.
Podcasts have been around for a long time now, and honestly, it sometimes feels like I was one of the last people to finally jump on board. But I also know there are still plenty of people who have never really listened to one before.
What I love about podcasts is that when I find one that truly speaks to me, it makes me feel a little less alone. Sometimes it inspires me. Sometimes it comforts me. Sometimes it just reminds me that there are other people out there trying to survive the same kinds of hard things.
There are so many people walking this grief journey, and hearing their perspectives can be incredibly helpful, especially when it feels like nobody in your real life understands what you’re carrying. Being the first widow, or one of the first widows, in your friend group can feel really isolating sometimes.
I hope some of these resonate with you the way they resonated with me. Not every podcast will fit every person, and that’s okay too. Take what helps, leave what doesn’t, and know you’re not alone in this.
